The beginning of September ushered in the commencement of one of the biggest fashion events of the entire world...Fashion Week!
Fashion Week is the time when the biggest fashion houses from the four major fashion capitals of the world; Milan, London, New York and Paris, put on fashion shows for their clients to display their latest creations and collections for the coming weather seasons.
From Salvatore Ferragamo's luxurious and eclectic stylish touch to Burberry Prorsum's simple, flattering combinations and prints. Fashion Week is an event not to be missed as it marks the beginning of fashion trends that are to be seen in the coming seasons.
Floral Prints. No trend screams old age like floral but for designers like Nina Ricci and Blumarine, it was the endorsed style trend of choice. The floral theme is boldly being represented with bright colors and big motifs that are obviously meant to give a look-at-me vibe. The classy yet lady-like elegance showcased in knee-length cocktail dresses replaces the obsession with short dresses that are rarely flattering to a large percentage of women.
Candy Colors.
Many a designer's collection were full of an eclectic display of color which implies that fabulous color combos will continue to be a strong style tendency for many seasons to come. Eye popping, attention grabbing color schemes from Strawberry Pink to neon green were the center of attraction at Salvatore Ferragamo and Dolce & Gabbana's fashion shows.
Sequin.
There was an overdose of glitz and glamor at the Armani Spring/Summer 2011 fashion show as the models walked down the runway in beautifully sequined gowns and cocktail dresses. No one does feminine elegance better than Armani and this was showcased in his collection as the dresses were very elegant and fancy. The glitter detail added a lot of pop to the ensembles and nothing seeks attention more than a glittery outfit.
Bold Prints.
The most eccentric prints and fun color combination which attract the eye to every detail immediately were the focal points of the Versace and Oscar De La Renta fashion shows. Their respective collections embrace fun stylish and playful details with the bold prints. Some say a print spices up every look, others say even a print can be too much but there is no way to ignore presence like that. From Abstract, geometrical to Goth or animal inspired prints, the prints selected took the collections to a whole new level.
Lace.
There is no trend that makes a woman feel more feminine and girly than lace? Lace is one of the classically beautiful trends that hardly go out of fashion and designers haven't had enough of it yet. Lace can be one of the trickiest looks to pull off but that doesn't mean you shouldn't give this sexy, versatile trend a try.
