Milan Fashion week was a showcase of Asian and 60s inspired collections. While the 60s swung and shimmered on the runways of Fendi and Versace, Dolce and Gabbana took us to Sicily. Here are some of our favorite collections as we say bye to Milan Fashion Week.
Gucci. Colour simply popped in riot at the Gucci spring/summer collection. Slick trouser suits, 60s inspired shapes lived on in Cobalt Blue, Pink, Fuschia and Yellow. The main focus at Gucci was the back which was shown off to great effect through plunging and backless cut outs sometimes covered by frills and ruffles. The infusion of colour showed how anyone can do color.

Versus. Flippy, flirty fun is what can be said to describe the Versus collection this year. A line whose roots lie in youth and edge, Christopher Kane and Donatella offered a collection full of chains covering entire skirts, worn as chokers at the neck, mesh skirts and playful knits in check board patterns on a palette of primary colors. It was a fun collection. |

Dolce and Gabbana. With 1960s Italy as inspiration, Dolce and Gabbana took us on a glorious Sicilian holiday experience. Colourful, energetic and vibrant prints, stripes on day dresses that held tight at the waist and sprung out into full skirts. It was sexy and sassy at Dolce and Gabbana. |

Bottega Veneta. A delicious array of tea dresses in red, pink and blue floral prints slunk down the Bottega Veneta runway. Shoulder sleeves were shorter and sprinkles of embellishment in sequins and bead hugged crisp white shirts and floated on skirts of tea dresses. Feminine and sexy is what can be said about the Bottega Veneta show. |

DSquared. Temperatures soared as Dsquared2 went 90s with lots of bling, tiny miniskirts and raunchy hot pants. It was biker jackets, bustier tops, lacing, white shirts and blazers, jeans all sporting lots of gold chains. To sum it up, it was short and flirty as only the DSquared2 boys can do. |
